Department of Computer Application (BCA ) Dept. History: - The department of Computer Application established in the year of 2008. The department of Computer Application is running graduate programmers in BCA in the jurisdiction of Shivaji University, Kolhapur. The department has qualified & experienced staff having high teaching & research profile. Vision:- To contribute in creating a bridge between young professionals and recent trends. Prepare the student to meet the demands of the industry and society through excellence in technical and management education and research; to remain a source of pride to college. Mission:- The department is committed to generating and preserving knowledge and working with other management to bring this knowledge to face great challenges in the sector. The department is dedicated to provide the students with an education that combine rigorous academic study with the support and intellectual stimulation of a diverse campus community. We seek to develop in Each and every member of the department, the ability and passion to work wisely, creatively and effectively for the betterment of human kind. The department provide advance knowledge and educate students in management and technology that they will best serve the nation in the 21st century. SWOT Analysis:- Strengths 1. We have well equipped lab. 2. We provide internet facility to all the students in the department and faculty too. 3. Conduct UGC-NRC program 4. Qualified teaching staff 5. We also arrange guest lecture and seminars. Opportunities 1. Scope for more professional courses 2. Scope for the campus interviews. 3. We use to send our student for participating in the events on the other colleges. 4. Can be leading department to train student for IT and computational industries. Future plan:- 1. Our intention is to develop a well –equipped Computer lab for BCA Department. 2. To develop Software useful for Business industries. 3. We will going to organize a seminar for on Advance Technology in future. 4. We will organize guest lecturers to guide BCA students. 5. We will arrange Campus Interview for final year BCA student. Facilities:- 1. Internet Facility for Students and teaching Faculty 2. Network Resource Centre for B.A, B.COM, B.Sc. Student and Faculty. 3. Teaching With the Help of PPT. Presentations, E-learning’s. 4. Industrial Visits. 5. To conduct other Exams like TBC-CGC Typing Exam MSCE Pune , Tally Online Aptitude Test . 6. To Provide Departmental Library. i) Library: - The department has library having 25 reference books. ii) Computer: - The department has a 25 computer with broadband internet connectivity used by Student. Traditional teaching methods such as lecture, question - answer, discussion and chalk & board are adopted by the faculty. In addition to this, use of modern teaching aids like charts, models, LCD are used for learning and detailing the subject. Internet facility is made available to the students in the department.
