Department of History

1) Establishment :- 
     The Department is started in 1968 for U G and for PG in 1991.The Department of History one of the important Department in our college. We have well qualified Staff in our Department. Department working at its best Department has qualified and experienced staff having high teaching and research profile six person visitor’s lecturer in our Department for P.G
 
2) Vision 
      To create understanding about historical knowledge and research among the students - To focus on local History - To make historical awareness and responsiveness between Students and Society of catchment area

3)Mission -
      To organize Seminars, Conferences and Workshops (University/State/National/International level) - To conduct Innovative, Extensive and Research Activities - To implement of Internal Evaluation Mechanism - Goal - To create a Research Culture - To create interrelation between Academia and Society

4)  SWOT Analysis :- 
    * STRENGTH: 
           1. Sound reputed management having tremendous trust in the society
           2. Earned the trust of GOs, NGOs & social bodies
           3. Sound infrastructure
          4. Rich heritage of extension activities 
          5. Good potential of modifying educational programmes relevant to local, national and global needs.
          6. Qualified and experienced

* staff Weaknesses 1. Not receiving non-salary grants 2. Recruitment ban on non teaching staff 3. Students from poor economic strata cannot afford fees for higher education 4. Poor communication skills/ competency level among students

* staff Opportunities/ Challenges 
        1. Scope for more professional courses 
        2. Scope for introducing P.G. Programmes in Science, Commerce and Humanities
        3. Scope for earning to be ‘College with potentials for excellence’ in future
        4. To earn to be the ‘Top College’ in the town/ vicinity 
        5. To be assessed by external authorizes bodies like NAAC, ISO, etc.

         1. Competition of other institutions 
         2. Distance education mode 
         3. Outburst of a large number of professional colleges in the vicinity 
         4. Changing trend and attitude towards professional colleges
